Hey guys,

Does anyone on here work for the DoD (Civilian)...preferably CIA, NSA, NGA, etc? I have to work on a project for my schools GIS class, which is a dual-enrollement with JMU. Therefore, for my end of term project, from start to finish I have to create a project, and then present it infront of a panel of professors, government officials, and special guests at JMU.

For this project, I was interested in National Security stuff (analyzing a terrorist attack on numerous high profile targets..etc, and I had some questions in obtaining data. So, if anyone here works for the DoD, can you send me a PM?

Thanks, I really appreciate it,
Eric

CIA and NSA are separate agencies from the Department of Defense. Do you need a DoD employee or one of the others? Are you specifically looking for people with a GIS background?

Spike, Ive posted on MAAPR before about things similar, people saying their neighbor works for the CIA, or my dad is a spy, blah blah blah.

Most of the people who work for these agencies and are actually in the Special Ops community, so on and so forth dont like talking about it, telling you about it, or admiting to you that they are in it.

In many cases they could be violating OpSec, or Operational Security.

To address your project there are many private analysts in and around the DC metro area who actually would be better suited to help you with what you need. The problem with talking to somebody at an agency is that if you can find somebody who can talk about something, they would likely be so low in the chain that you would get little if any help. The Goverment types that do have the most anwsers are at much higher levels.

Private "Think Tank" types jobs depend on them knowing AS MUCH as possible, and truthfully, Ive met a few, they love to talk!

On another note, if you go to a think tank and talk to somebody and leave a good impression, that may be a source you can come back to in the future or a lot of these places offer low paying (but paying) internships.

good luck

I don't think you're going to get much information on how data is anaylized, but if you go to http://www.dhs.gov/index.shtm you should be able to find somebody to point you in the right direction.

That's not DoD, and I didn't know 15 year old JROTC cadets could have that job.

No offense but I agree bein a lifeguard at a kiddie pool on a military base doesn't constitue as DOD employee. Not trying to be rude about sayin kiddie pool but unless if you are like 10' tall and huge muscle wise I doubt someone like you would be able to save a big guy/gal in a pool thrashing and what not.

on a side note, Before you post on every thread like you apparently seem to be doing read our rules, and it will help cut down on people making a mockery of you, If you read a couple posts he (the origionator) stated he was looking for someone under homeland security. Your useless posts are making staff members waste time reading some of your posts, along with alot of members who like to read all posts too.

lol now knowing you are huge for a 15 year old. It is more believeable that you are a lifeguard. I still think you would have a hard time pulling my fatness out of the water. But we need to keep this on topic.

I've pulled some big guys out of the water. And we really don't lift you, we use our rescue tubes as levitation.
