The Virginia Airsoft Force was established in winter of 2003 in an attempt to unify Airsoft players throughout the state of Virginia. It had been noticed that a majority of Airsoft players are scattered throughout the state and are ultimately disconnected from one another. For this reason, we wanted to establish a common ground for all players, despite their possible affiliation with smaller groups. By creating a unified statewide affiliation, VAF members benefit from increased exposure to other players, better discussions, and the possibility for more players at games.
Our goal is to establish ties between those in the Virginia Airsoft community. In short, we wish to be an umbrella group where smaller groups and individual players can benefit with greater exposure from their affiliation. How is this to be achieved? The VAF wishes that smaller fledgling groups might take advantage of our forums - if you have an active Airsoft community in your locale, tell us, and we'll give you your own forum section. We also would like to create a mass contact list of every person in Virginia who is actively involved with Airsoft. We will also have an events calendar where your team will be able to post any public games that you might be having so others from out of town will able to join in.
We have two chief priorities:
Safety: We regard safety as our highest priority. Release forms must be signed by any participant, despite their age - with the understanding that they have read and agree to follow those rules set forth by the VAF. Proper equipment such as full-face masks are required at all VAF-sponsored games. Most importantly, the VAF will only allow those players who demonstrate mature behavior to play. Any player found to be breaking any rules can and will be asked to leave, no questions asked.
Fun: The VAF also places a strong emphasis on having fun out on the battlefield. If you look around on the internet, you might notice that other groups may seem elitist at times and may even require players to address others by their ranks. Practically no one enjoys this behavior. For this reason, we welcome both serious as well as casual players. Everyone will be equal out on the battlefield and will be expected to treat others with the same respect.
Membership: Guests will be granted membership in the Virginia Airsoft Force upon attending the designated number of VAF sponsered games and after being approved by existing members. Only individuals listed on the VAF roster are to be considered as representing the VAF.
