What is MAAPR anyway?
MAAPR, The Mid-Atlantic Airsoft Players Registry, started off as an email list of 36 airsoft players in the Maryland area for the purpose of organizing monthly games. This list has grown in the past 3 years to more than 1400 players in 14 states and 5 countries. MAAPR has also successfully hosted 8 large-scale Operations drawing between 150 - 275 players every game, and has the privilege of boasting the best Sponsor-provided raffles on the East Coast. |

Safety and Training Day Videos Now Online
Posted: Static_DET5 @ Tue 24 Mar, 2009
Thanatopsis filmed the last S&T day presentations, and has put together the Law Enforcement portion of the video. He's posted it on YouTube, after a very fast edit and turn around time.
I'm not going to comment on the imagery, but the message is there.
We'll be posting additional videos as they get done.
I wanted to really thank Thanatopsis for his work. We didn't expect this, and we certainly didn't expect this fast a turn around. Everyone was unscripted, and unpracticed in front of the camera. The video still looks really nice, and certainly gets the job done. Really strong work, and hopefully we'll be able to use his talents in the future.
Here's the video (Approx. 10 minutes)

MAAPR, Supporting Members, & Change to Current Policy
Posted: JDaveUSMC @ Mon 22 Dec, 2008
History:
MAAPR has been, and always will be, supported solely by donations, and by revenue gained through large-scale scenario games. We have never, not do we ever intend to, had commercial ad banners. MAAPR Trustees do not receive any financial gain through donations received by MAAPR.com, and as a general rule, Trustees who come "out of pocket" for MAAPR expenses, generally do not ask to be repaid. Since MAAPR's inception, its intent was to be run "for the players, by the players" and has done so successfully for 6 years, and we want it to stay that way.
The MAAPR webserver currently hosts three entities.
www.MAAPR.com - Mid-Atlantic Airsoft Player Registry
www.virginiaairsoft.org - Virginia Airsoft
www.marylandtacticalsupply.com - Maryland Tactical Supply
As a general rule, 99% of donations to fund operating expenses for our webserver have come from MAAPR members.
Situation:
At the top of every MAAPR webpage, is a "Make a Donation" link. Those who choose to use this link, are automatically added to the "Supporting Members" usergroup, and are displayed at the bottom of the forum homepage. This list has never been modified to remove users.
Until now, there has not been anything incentive-wise for those who donate. They do so on their own volition, keeping MAAPR operating. While there have been some narrow escapes financially, MAAPR has never ceased to function due to financial reasons.
Change to Policy:
The complete list of Supporting Members will only reflect a 3-month period, cleaned out quarterly. Members who are "Supporting Members" will be retained in the usergroup for life, but only those who donate during that 3-month period will be shown at the bottom of the homepage.
Incentive:
On the last day of every quarter, all members who donate using the "Make a Donation" button at the top of the homepage, will be entered into a drawing. This drawing will be for a raffle prize from an un-named MAAPR sponsor in San Diego, CA (not me!...

Utilizing the format that has made our scenarios so successful, we have added even more missions and props, as well as a larger prize package. Prizes will be drawn and awarded throughout the day, but we will give-away at least $500 in prizes at the beginning of the safety briefing.
BATTLE FACTS
*
The coldest, snowiest weather in memory in the Ardennes Forest on the German/Belgium border.
*
Over a million men, 500,000 Germans, 600,000 Americans (more than fought at Gettysburg ) and 55,000 British.

3 German armies, 10 corps, the equivalent of 29 divisions.
*

*
The Malmedy Massacre, where 86 American soldiers were murdered, was the worst atrocity committed against American troops during the course of the war in Europe .
*
In its entirety, the “Battle of the Bulge,” was the worst battle - in terms of losses - to the American Forces in WWII.
_______
Short History
On a wintry mid-December day in 1944, three powerful German armies plunged into the semi-mountainous, heavily forested Ardennes region of eastern Belgium and northern Luxembourg . Their goal was to reach the sea, trap four allied armies, and impel a negotiated peace on the Western front.
Thinking the Ardennes was the least likely spot for a German offensive, American Staff Commanders chose to keep the line thin, so that the manpower might concentrate on offensives north and south of the Ardennes . They were wrong in their assessment. The American line was thinly held by three divisions and a part of a fourth, while the fifth was making a loc...

Airsoft GI Newsletter #00112 Classic Army making a comeback!
Posted: JDaveUSMC @ Tue 07 Oct, 2008
Dear Customer,
Over the past few months we've been slowly dropping Classic Army AEGs from our inventory due to their decline in quality. Classic Army got the message and went back to the drawing board and their new guns are now more reliable and more powerful. Check out these new models from Classic Army that are now worthy to be apart of our inventory:
Classic Army M15A4 PMC
Classic Army AR 10
Classic Army MP5-K
Another item making a return to our shelves after almost a year of being pulled off is the OE TECH Ghillie Suit. We have two sizes to meet your needs M/L and XL/XXL. This is a new and improved design over the previous model. If you're a hardcore sniper, you're going to need the best camouflage available, and that means the OE TECH Ghillie Suit.
Additionally, King Arms has created a new way to show off your awesome AEGs. The King Arms Display Stands support your AEG by the magazine so you can set them up for display in your house instead of stowing them away in a gun bag or case. Airsoft GI has the King Arms Stands for the following models:
Tokyo Marui M14
G36
M4/M16
Authenticate your gear with a blood type tag/key chain. You can carry your keys on the clip, or clip the tag to your vest to display your blood type so it's easy for the field medic to see. We have all different blood types tags in black, tan, and OD.
In other news, the KWA M1911 DS PTP is now available and ready to ship, these things went really fast last time. If you want one get your order in now before it's too late.
You can find all of these great new products at www.airsoftgi.com
Thank you

Dealer Right and Copyright Violation
Recently we have noticed that there is an airsoft company named Airsoft Force (http://www.airsoftforce.com) claims itself as an authorized distributor of VFC and G&G without actual authority. We believe that these violations are serious since this is a sort of swindle. We have contacted this company for the removal of all unapproved declarations and images that may mislead customers. However, no reply is received until now. Being a wise customer, please be aware of this matter. Thank you for your kind attention.

Exciting new releases from Airsoft GI
Posted: JDaveUSMC @ Fri 19 Sep, 2008

A lot has been going on in the world of airsoft in the past few weeks. For a long time Tokyo Marui has been the only company to produce a reliable, competition ready, P90; however, all that is about to change. Classic Army has decided to jump head first into that market with there brand new P90 Sportline, featuring the integrated red dot and TR model P90's. Both the CA P90 and CA P90 TR are available for $100.00 less than their Tokyo Marui counterpart.
Also brand new at Airsoft GI, the FG-A1 Custom AEGs. Our first FG-A1 generated a lot of interest, so we decided to take that idea and roll with it. Airsoft GI is proud to announce the FG-A1 Carbine and FG-A1 DMR are the newest custom AEGs to hit our custom armory.
That's not all. ICS has just released a brand new AEG from their arsenal called the ICS Full Metal CXP. This little rascal shoots over 400 FPS and is loaded with unique features that are sure to turn heads.
Last but not least, the AGM Full Metal 614 Advanced Rifle. This is another, more affordable, option for those that love the 614 design but don't love spending a fortune for a full metal version of it. AGM's 614 is rock solid and comes with everything you ...
